AquaPac 404 Waterproof Mini Point & Shoot Camera Case
Your mini point and shoot camera is a perfect on the go camera, small enough to slide into your pocket and take anywhere. Just one tiny problem though. Half the places you want to take your camera - and take photos with it – are near water, dust, dirt, sand or snow. Elements capable of ruining your memory recording camera.
That's where the Aquapac comes in. Once your small camera is secured inside the Aquapac 404, you'll be able to take your camera - and take your photos - wherever you want to go, and be able to capture all those memories you would normally not be able to keep in a photograph.

Details of the Aquapac 404 Mini Point and Waterproof Camera Case:
Allows for photographs to be taken right through the LENZFLEX windows, even underwater.
Compatible with most non-zoom compact cameras.
Will float with your camera in it.
Guaranteed submersible to 15 feet (5 meters).
Waterproof camera case also keeps out dust and sand, a leading problem for cameras (just ask the repairman at your local camera store).
Material
The case is made from UV-stabilized Polyurethane material that won't break down or discolor in sunlight.
Recently redesigned and made from tough, but flexible polyurethane - 100% PVC free, 100% recyclable and more environmentally-friendly
Polyurethane is softer and more malleable that other plastics – making it easier to operate your camera controls through the material.
The case can be operated in really cold climate from -40° F to 122° F. It will remain soft and malleable at -40º and below.
Case material has a greater tensile strength, meaning it's even more difficult to tear or rip apart.
What Cameras Does the AquaPac 404 Fit?
The AquaPac 404 Mini Point and Shoot Waterproof Camera Case fits most small digital cameras without a zoom lens. If your camera body is very small but has a zoom lens, you will probably be better off with our AquaPac 420 Waterproof Small Camera Case with Hard Lens.
The maximum size of a small camera that will fit in case of the AquaPac 404 would have a circumference of 7.9 inches (200mm).
The maximum camera size dimensions are: 9.5 x 2.7 x 6.5 cm.
What Stops Water from Getting in to the AquaPac?
With a simple twist of a couple of levers, the patented AquaClip® seals the case - It's been tested to the toughest international waterproofing standards. The AquaClip sealing system is the key to all AquaPac’s. It is located on the top of each AquaPac and seals each case with a simple twist of a lever.
It has a V-groove in one half and a raised V on the other. When the levers on the male half are turned they run up a ramp on the female half – squeezing the two together. The pressure’s not sufficient to cut the soft plastic case material, but just enough to make a totally hermetic seal.
The two halves are attached to the case by a pair of ‘flexible clips’ in such a way that the whole case stays in one piece, even when open.
Waterproof and Performance Testing - Beware of Cheap Imitations!
The AquaPac 404 has been independently tested to be 100% Waterproof. There are cheap Asian-made cases circulating in some countries – many of them illegal knock-offs. Think carefully before buying and using these cases. If it doesn’t say Aquapac on the clamp, it’s not a genuine Aquapac,
has not been tested, and does not have an extensive warrantee.
The AquaClip has been tested to the most demanding standards of being able to claim the cases are waterproof. It is made entirely of light injection-molded plastic, so it won’t rust.
In tests at Bath University the AquaClip lever mechanism was tested for 10,000 cycles of opening and closing, with no loss of function.
Who says it’s "100% Waterproof"…. anyone can say that.
You’re right, anyone case say that. But it’s the proof that makes the difference. Ask any of the other waterproof camera bag companies who they use to test their bags waterproof effectiveness. Is it themselves?
AquaPac Products are Independently Tested
In 2008, IC Consultants Ltd (part of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Imperial College, London) was commissioned to make an independent assessment of AquaPac’s claim that its bag are waterproof. The study concluded the following:
“Every case sealed with the AquaClip® seal tested 100% waterproof to at least 16.7 feet (5.1m) of water for at least 30 minutes.”
In-House Testing
As a result of the above testing, AquaPac has introduced a Waterproof Rating System to clearly identify the waterproof qualification of each Aquapac product. The AquaPac 404 is rated by AquaPac as:
Rating Number: 3 - Submersible
Withstands submersions of 15ft (5m) for at least 30 minutes.
Suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
Not designed for submersion beyond 15ft (5m).
Award Winning
The AquaClip was awarded Millennium Product Status by the British Design Council. A government initiative to recognize "on e of the most innovative products created in Britain for the new Millennium."
Aquapac has also been awarded with the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2007 as recognition for achievement on continuous innovation and development.
Again, compare these awards to those received by cheaper alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I really get good photos through the plastic?
Yes! The special flexible lens material we use to make the lens windows is called LENZFLEX. It's optically-clear. You get a LENZFLEX window on both sides of the case, so you can use your camera either way round. And the sturdy but flexible material allows you to operate all the camera controls.
Ok, not every photo is going to be perfect. But we're all used to that aren't we! Most of the time nobody will be able to tell you were using a case. See the end of this page to see some of the photos our customers have sent in - the kind of photos you could be soon be getting!
Are there any care instructions for the case?
Before using an Aquapac for the first time you need to make sure that it got to you in perfect condition. We ask you to do “The Bubble Test.” Seal something worthless inside and submerge in a basin. A few air bubbles may escape from the AquaClip, this is ok, water can get into parts of the clamp without getting into the case. But if a stream of bubbles escaped when you squeezed it there could be a problem, and you should contact us to obtain a replacement.
The bubble test is also a good time to check that the case floats.
Before each use you must examine the Aquapac to make sure it’s not visibly damaged – to be safe you should always do the bubble test.
Before opening, you must shake any water from the AquaClip. Otherwise it could get into the case when you open it.
Avoid scratching any of the flexible case materials. Especially the LENSFLEX window on the camera cases. If stowing – for example in a boat or JetSki compartment – do so carefully so it won’t be damaged in rough seas.
Wash in soapy water and then rinse with fresh water, especially after regular contact with chlorinated or salt water, or with sun creams. Do not use bleach, alcohol or proprietary cleaners.
The LENSFLEX window on the camera case may also be cleaned with photographic quality tissues.
A customer care guide is supplied with every case.
Will the Aquapac really float with my stuff inside?
Yes. The AquaClip creates a hermetic seal – once closed the case is airtight. Most electronic equipment is full of air. So it’s not so much the air round the outside of your phone or camera or whatever, but the air actually inside it that makes it float.
If you put lead bars or gold ingots inside a case and carefully squeeze out all the air before sealing, the Aquapac may not float. Sorry.
Can I use my Aquapac in the hot tub?
Around +40ºC (+100ºF) the hard plastic of the AquaClip starts to soften. The case could therefore leak if submerged in a very hot bath. As long as the case is not held underwater, use in the bath or hot tub is fine. (Please note that an AquaClip left in the hot sun will instantly revert to its normal state if dropped in water.)
How durable are they?
Obviously, you need to look after them; the material could be punctured by a sharp object. But it's far tougher than it looks. AquaPac’s are recommended as a ‘Best Buy’ by Sailing Today magazine: "We can vouch for the toughness…as much as the case was pulled, stretched and twisted, the material did not break or tear, and it really took some abuse".
What kind of quality are they?
Practical Photography magazine describes the camera cases as "The ideal way of protecting your compact on holiday…A small price to pay for protection". A nd from Yachting Monthly magazine: "We at YM are completely enamored of AquaPac’s waterproof cases which work brilliantly."
Can't I just use a plastic bag?
What makes AquaPac’s really special is that they're completely functional. Electronic equipment inside the case keeps working quite normally. You don’t have to take it out to use it - which makes Aquapac a genuinely useful product. Also, a plastic bag is not going to be waterproof to 5m or deeper.
What our customers say:
"I just purchased two of your products for a recent trip to the Caribbean, and I just wanted to say how wonderful your camera case is! We were able to take some amazing pictures while snorkeling!"
