Camera Bag Theft Prevention System
When GearGuard Camera Bag Locks are used to secure the quick-release buckles on a camera bag, the locks have a built-in tethering system which allows the entire camera bag to be secured to a permanent anchor or other fixed object using the optional camera security cable and security combination lock. This is a great feature as it lets you virtually lock down any camera bag, gear bag, or storage bag that has quick-release buckles. Photographers can now leave their bags tethered to a permanent anchor using the optional security cable, knowing that the gear will remain where it was left.
Camera Bag Pocket/Compartment Restriction System
Previously, there was no way to protect your camera bag from being easily opened by anyone. The GearGuard Camera Bag Lock allows you to lock your camera bag shut. The protective case keeps the clasp from being opened. You can now lock down your bag’s main compartment with the optional 3-digit combination lock or with the lock and security cable to secure the locked bag to a solid post to deter thieves from taking the whole bag.

The GearGuard Camera Bag Locks are available in two sizes, large and small, so you can restrict access to the most common sized camera bag quick-release buckles.
How the GearGuard Camera Bag Locks Work
Each GearGuard Camera Bag Lock comes with two-piece, impact resistant locking plates. When the two clips slide together over a buckle, it is secured by use of the OPTIONAL combination lock and/or lock and security cable. When secured, these locks function much like the GearGuard Camera Body Lock System.
Camera Bag Buckle Lock - Two Sizes - Large and Small
Most smaller shoulder bags (single camera) will work with the smaller Bag Lock, while the large Bag Lock is suitable for larger backpacks or multiple camera (luggage sized) bags. Unfortunately each bag manufacturer varies as far as the buckle size they use. As a result, there is not a standard size formula in determining which Lock is needed
The large Bag Lock is approximately 3.5" tall x 2.5" wide and 1 inch in depth. The small Bag Lock is approximately 3" tall x 2" wide x 1" in depth.
While the size of the buckle is important, it is also necessary to factor in the size of the strap being used on the bag. The large Bag Lock can accommodate up to a 2" wide strap. The small Bag Lock can accommodate up to a 1 3/8" wide strap.

To complete the GearGuard camera security system, the GearGuard Steel Security cable was designed as the keystone to ensure that your camera gear bag is secure. This cable works specifically with the GearGuard Bag Buckle Lock - as it will fit through the security cable pass-thru slot on the lock.
The GearGuard Security Cable features a 36 inch long steel-braided cable The security cable is extremely flexible, but cannot be cut with simple hand tools and is entirely coated in rubber to prevent scratches on your expensive equipment.
The camera security cable also includes a three dial combination security lock – so you don’t have the hassle of the loss or finding the locks keys at the end of your shoot.
