Heavy Duty TSA Case Lock - “When Your Equipment and Firearm Cases Need Extra Security”
When traveling with equipment such as audio-visual, or camera cases you need extra security when checking it with the airlines.
The Search Alert TSA Heavy Duty case lock is the only TSA approved heavy duty travel lock on the market which is specifically designed for air travel of equipment cases. This heavy duty case lock alerts you with the patented green light/red light window if your lock (and case) were opened by the TSA.
Note: The TSA does not allow TSA locks to be used to secure firearm cases checked in with the airlines. For addtional information of firearms checked with the airlines, check the TSA website's flying with firearms sections which can be found here

Here’s how the lock works
Cases checked at an airport are sent through an electronic screening machine. If a TSA agent determines the case needs to be hand searched, the SearchAlert lock will be opened by the agent. When the TSA secured access device is used to open the lock, the lock's security window ch anges color from green to red.
If a TSA agent hand searches a checked case, the agent should leave a TSA notification of baggage inspection in the case. If the SearchAlert case lock security shows red, and no official notification if baggage inspection is found, you should take the case to the airline's luggage claim office to determine if anything is missing, or if anything has been added to the case. No other TSA lock does this! For more information on operation of this feature, click here.
Heavy Duty Shackle
|
Shank comparison of TSA Heavy Duty Lock and Standard TSA Luggage Lock.
All standard TSA locks and TSA SearchAlert locks have a shackle diameter of 1/8” of an inch. The Heavy Duty TSA SearchAlert case lock shackle is 1/4” inch thick – double the thickness of the standard shackle.
Due to the shackle’s size, it will not fit luggage zippers. This lock will only fit case locks that have an opening of 1/4 inch or greater.
