The Metrosafe 300 Laptop Bag's Security Features Explained
eXomesh® slashguard panels
Your bag can be slashed in a blink of an eye, allowing the contents to fall or be pulled out. To safeguard from this type of theft, the main compartment of the MetroSafe 300 incorporates eXomesh® Slashguard panels. These lightweight Slashguard panels discretely hide a layer of eXomesh® between two layers of the bag’s fabric, giving protection against bag slasher’s knives and blades. eXomesh is a high-tensile stainless steel mesh that is sandwiched between the inside and outside ballistic nylon layers of the MetroSafe 300.
Snatchproof anchor clips
When traveling, commuting, or out with friends, you’re not always able to keep a close eye on your belongings. In an instant, someone can pick up your bag while your attention is diverted. That’s why the MetroSafe 300 has a snatch-proof metal clip built into the bag strap. Tamperproof zippers
Subways, busy traffic intersections and crowded markets are prime pickpocket locations. To protect the MetroSafe 300 in these vulnerable locations, the bag’s main flap features a hidden safety hook so it cannot be opened without your knowledge. For additional security against prying hands and pickpockets, the bag’s zippers can be physically locked closed.
Security Combination Lock
This feature allows you to lock the zipper pulls together, so they can't be pulled open, and lock the bag to a fixed item so it can't be picked up.
On one end of the Metrosafe 300 security shoulder strap is a small bulletproof polycarbonate, three-dial combination lock. It is used to anchor the strap (and bag) around a table leg, inside a car trunk, to an office/hotel room desk, or other secure object.
The security lock also includes a metal loop for threading through the zipper pulls to keep the bag’s main compartment locked. You set the 3-dial combination lock to your combo.
Pacsafe Metrosafe 300 Convenience Features
The generous sized main compartment of the Metrosafe 300 holds a variety of items. The inside dimensions of the bag are 10 inches wide by 12 ½ inches tall, easily accommodating most magazines, books and tablets. Without a laptop, the main compartment has a standard depth of 4 inches (can be expanded more, depending on the items carried).
Inside the back panel of the MetroSafe 300’s main compartment is a padded laptop pocket. This pocket is designed to hold up to 13-inch laptops, such as the Apple MacBook or other small form notebook computers or tablets like the iPad. The laptop pocket has a 1½ inch wide, elastic strap that holds the laptop snug in its pocket.
Metrosafe 300 Organizational Features
Located on the front of the MetroSafe 300 is a variety of other organizational pockets.
Security Flap
The large flap on the front of the MetroSafe 300 covers an organizational storage pockets. The contents of the compartment are protected from skilled pickpockets and sneak thieves by two security features build into the outside flap.
First, the bag has two 1x1 inch Velcro security strips mounted near the bottom of the outside flap. These keep the front flap secured to the front of the bag and make it difficult for a pickpocket to get into the organizational pouch under the flap. Besides taking physical tension to unfasten the Velcro, the strips make a loud (ripping) noise when
opened, which alert you of attempted entry.
Second, once the outside flap of the Metrosafe 300 is opened, the organizational pouch underneath is secured by a set of high quality metal zipper pulls. When pulled together at the top of the pocket, the zippers are securely held in place by the MetroSafe 300 zipper lock system - which can only be unlocked with two hands. These two security features are bound to keep out the most skilled pickpockets!
Slide in Pocket
Under the flap, located above the organizational pocket is a medium sized, slide pocket. This pocket accommodates items (maps, books, guides, or other flat items) 10 inches wide by 12 ½ inches tall. At the top of the pocket is a Velcro tab to keep items in place.
Organizational Pocket
Inside the front organizational pocket are a variety of convenience storage pockets. On the outside of the pocket is a vulcanized rubber pass-through slot of MP3 / iPod / headset phones. This feature allows an audio player to be placed out of the view of potential thieves but allows the headset cord to be passed through the MP3 port of the Metrosafe 300 for easy listening.

The organizational features within the pocket:

Also included and attached to the MetroSafe 300 Key Fob is a small wrench for adjusting the fastening nut
that keeps the non-lock side of the shoulder strap attached to the bag.
Metrosafe 300 - Easy Care and Cleaning
The MetroSafe 300 bag material is made from 840-denier ballistic nylon. This material is tough, long wearing, and is both abrasion and tear resistant. To clean, simply wipe clean,or spot clean with warm water and mild detergent - dry in shade.
