Pacsafe VentureSafe 20L Anti-Theft FeaturesThe Pacsafe Venture Safe 20L Daypack features (4) anti-theft features that make sure your gear stays safe and secure, whether you are walking down the Rambles is Barcelona Spain, or sitting at a sidewalk cafe; having a cup of coffee with your pack next to your chair. The following security features are built-into the Pacsafe VentureSafe 20L to help protect your contents.
Tamperproof Zippers Both the main compartment, as well as the secondary storage pocket feature "tamperproof zippers." The following is a description of this zipper security feature as it relates the the VentureSafe 20L's main compartment. This compartment is the most important to protect, as it is usually the one carrying the most valuables. The zipper lock is sewn onto a retractable elastic band that retracts underneath an elastic mesh side pocket (used to hold a water bottle on the side of the VentureSafe 20L). Once the zipper is locked down, this zipper is completely hidden from view. Even the zipper tracks feature a fabric cover to prevent the zipper from being open if snagged. The VentureSafe 20L's secondary storage pocket is also protected by the same type of zipper security system, so that all exposed zippe red compartments are protected from unauthorized entry.
Snatchproof Anchor Clip Security System
Having zipper security is just half the battle when a thief can simply cause a distraction and pick up your bag when not being paid attention to. The VentureSafe 20L incorporates the Snatchproof Anchor Clip Security System within the bag’s shoulder straps. Located where the shoulder strap is sewn onto a daypack, the bottom shoulder strap of the VentureSafe 20L daysafe incorporates a snatch-proof anchor clip, which allows the bottom of the strap to be detached from the bag, secured around a stationary object like a table leg or chair back. Once clipped back onto the VentureSafe 20L, backpack you can relax while drinking your coffee without having to worry about someone walking off with your bag. The Snatchproof Security System is cleverly built into the bottom of the VentureSafe 20L and attaches with an elastic retention cord which keeps the clip out of view.
The VentureSafe 20L Day pack incorporates the patented PacSafe eXomesh Slashguard system, which includes a layer of stainless steel wire mesh in the lower section of the bag. Often, the parts of the backpack that you can’t see are the most vulnerable. Some thieves are extremely brazen and use a knife or razor blade to slice open the rear or bottom of your daypack. Once the bag is sliced, the thief can easily use their hand to remove your valuables. Most victims rarely feel or notice the slicing. The Slashguard stops the contents of the bag from dropping out if the material is slashed. Never heard of “bag slicers”? Simply Google the term “bag slicer pickpocket” and you will find numerous articles on people who have been victimized by these types of theft in Europe and other locations. Slashproof Shoulder Straps Stainless steel wire is embedded within the shoulder straps of the VentureSafe 20L pack prevents slash and grab thefts. The shoulder straps are also padded, particularly the top portion which has contact with shoulders and front chest area. The straps of the Venturesafe 20L backpack are fully adjustable and adaptable for teens to adults.
Main Zippered Compartment The main compartment of the VentureSafe pack is a spacious size. The internal dimensions are 19 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The large size of the main compartment can hold a variety of items including laptops, jackets, books, folders, electronic items, or other valuables. The VentureSafe 20L's main compartment does not feature any organizational pockets, nor does it have a built-in laptop sleeve as does it's larger version, the VentureSafe 25L.
The main compartment of the Pacsafe Venturesafe 20L is protected by the zipper security system to prevent unauthorized entry. Since the main pocket will usually hold the pack'ss most valuable items, it's zipper security system is the most secure. The zipper lock is attached to a retractable elastic band sewn into the bottom side of the bag. This band retracts underneath an elastic mesh side pocket (used to hold a water bottle on the side of the VentureSafe). Once the zipper is locked down, this zipper is completely hidden from view. Even the zipper tracks feature a fabric cover to prevent the zipper from being easily accessed or opened if snagged. The below photograph shows the inside of the Pacsafe Venture Safe 20L. Outside Front Zippered Pocket Facing the outside of the VentureSafe 20L is a "ready-access" pocket, which is designed to hold items that may be quickly needed. This pocket features a vertical zippered opening of 9 inches. The dimensions of the inside of the pocket are 12 inches long by 8.5 inches wide. The depth of the pocket ranges due to the fabric of the bag, however, in general, it would hold items it could hold items 2 to 3 inches deep. Ideally, this pocket is great for maps, guide books, food items, scarfs, gloves, or related sized items. Anyone who has had items stolen out of a daypack is keenly aware that outward pockets, worn away from the body are the very vulnerable.
Additionally, the zipper clip is hidden under a flap so that thieves can't see where the zipper pull is located. Side Pockets Sewn into each side of the Pacsafe VentureSafe 20L are elastic mesh open top pockets. These are great for holding small water bottles or other quick access items such as magazines, maps, or other items that don't require additional security. Shoulder Straps - Fully Adjustable The VentureSafe 20L has fully adjustable shoulder straps, which also include comfortable non-slip pads to keep you comfortable when supporting heavy gear.
The straps have a full range of adjustment for the petite to very tall. The pack is worn by adult and young people (usually aged 10 and up). The shoulder straps and pads were built with comfort in mind, taking into considerations that it may be worn by a person sightseeing the entire day. While designed as a day pack, it can be easily worn for the entire day. PacSafe has built in several comfort features including: Extra foam padding where the human body makes contact with the VentureSafe20L the top where the shoulders touch, the middle to support the spine, and the lower section for lower back support.
This provides a breathable nylon mesh material which prevents hot air and perspiration from being trapped when worn for long periods of time. Outside Straps
Besides the adjustable shoulder straps, the bag features a chest band when needed, as well as two additional adjustable straps for help with keeping the bag closed when packed to the gills!
