Pickpocket Video - Lisbon, Portugal - Loading on Bus

This is a very quick video that shows a victim getting on a bus.  As he is being pushed in by the crowd, you will see the pickpocket trying very hard to remove his wallet from his back pocket.  Note that a accomplice blocks the cameras view at the end.

What lessons are learned by watching this pickpocket video:

1.  Their is a reason why pickpockets call a man's back pocket "the sucker pocket."  Never place a wallet in a back pocket whenever possible.  Thieves find it very easy to remove a wallet from that location,  If you carry a wallet, cash, credit cards, or other valuables, consider carrying them in a variety of secure travel wallets such as money belts, security wallets, or other more secure money carrying devices -  Better yet, try to avoid carrying items of value whenever possible - but that is better said than done.  Here are a variety of secure travel wallets, money belts, money pouches, and other unique devices made to help travelers safeguard their money, credit cards, passport, and other valuables.

What lessons are learned by watching this pickpocket video:

1.  You heard the child pickpockets - They all know right where you keep your money.  This is why you need to be very diligent in placing your wallet, cash, or other identification valuables in a place that these child pickpockets(or any other thief for that matter) can't gain easy access to.  Notice at the end of the pickpocket video, the one child pickpocket even know that tourists keep money in a security neck pouch.  Fortunately this is the safest place for your valuables and is very difficult for a pickpocket to get to.  You may want to consider a security neck pouch that has a wire embedded into the rear strap so the street thief cannot yank it from behind and flee.  See a variety of money wallets and security neck pouches that can protect your valuables from this type of theft here.
