Most travelers give very little thought to their hotel door, especially when they leave their room for the day. This video shows the importance of pulling the door shut when you leave. This couple had items stolen from their room because the door did not lock all the way when they left their hotel room.
This hotel provides a great reminder of our personal responsibility to make sure our door locks when we leave - as well as letting the hotel management know when self closing room doors to not close properly. All hotel doors need to be adjusted every once in awhile, however, it is still the guest's job to make sure the lock works properly if the maid did not check it during their daily make up of the room.
